organizes a jubilee tourney for endgame studies to celebrate the 80th birthday of the Spanish composer Javier Rodríguez Ibrán.

4th FIDE WORLD CUP in COMPOSING for 2015 New

The International Chess Federation (FIDE), within the framework of its "Chess Composition" special project, is organising the 4th FIDE World Cup in Composing for 2015 in eight sections
The tournament is coordinated with the WFCC Presidium and is a part of the joint efforts by FIDE and WFCC for the popularization and development of chess composition worldwide. .

En dicho evento se le otorgo el titulo de Gran Maestro Internacional de Composición. Se desempeño como periodista de ajedrez dirigiendo entre otras las revistas "Caissa" y "El Ajedrez Argentino" y además, escribió diez libros, de los cuales, la mitad son de Problemas.

The Study of the Year 2012

“The Study of the Year “is aimed at introducing to the general public a single friendly endgame study that would hopefully appeal to chess players of all levels and encourage them to pay a deeper and more frequent attention to our art on a more regular basis. Composers are invited to pick up just one study (either their own or by others), published (informal tourneys) or judged (formal tourneys) during the year 2012 and send it before December 1st 2013 to David Gurgenidze by e-mail: gurgenidze53@mail.ru . All candidates will be published on Iuri Akobia’s website http://akobiachess.gol.ge . An International panel (members: D. Gurgenidze, O. Pervakov, G. Costeff, I. Aliev and H. van der Heijden) will judge the candidates and announce The Study of the Year 2012 on the very same website by December 20th 2013

On the occasion of the 90th birthday (6.8.2011) of Wouter J.G.Mees, the Dutch Chess Problem Society (Netherlandse Bond van Schaakproblemvrieden – NVvS) and ARVES jointly organized a chess composition tourney.
Therefore, this tourney’s theme is a logical ult. The ult stipulation was invented by Moravec and Mandler, and translates as ‘White to win in n moves’.
Given example comes from John Beasley’s British Endgame Studies News Vol.6 No.2, June 2001.
